Steve is an Artist based in Auckland New Zealand best known for his classic, traditional tattooing.
After spending countless hours getting tattooed and hanging out in tattoo shops during his art school days, he began tattooing in 2003 and has been doing it ever since.
Steve believes in honouring those that came before, and holding fast to the traditions of the past.
That philosophy is evident in his approach to tattooing and his painting, and has been instrumental in developing a distinctive and recognisable style in both his artwork, and his tattooing.
Steve's artwork is heavily influenced by his 20 years of tattooing, and being a part of that community and culture. He also draws heavy inspiration from his love of the chopper motorcycle scene of the 60's and 70's, and the general aesthetic and sexiness of that time.
Each piece is a sort of modern tip of the hat to a bygone era.
